It is great looking forward to the year ahead and there are some key dates for your diary in the months ahead. Easter is nearly here and to celebrate the shops in St Benedict’s Court are holding an Easter Egg Hunt with prizes of Easter eggs donated by Thornton’s. Look out for the posters in the St Benedict’s Court shops starting 27 March – there is no age limit so the whole family can have a go! “Italia in Piazza”, an Italian Market, will be in town on 14 & 15 May, this traditional food market comprises a wide variety of foods imported directly from Italy. The annual Continental Market will be back on 30 September, 1 & 2 October. Down at the Riverside Park we are spoilt for events in June with the third Riverside Gala on Saturday 5 June includes a fun dog show, raft race, WW2 flypast and much more This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This is followed at the end of June by a spectacular Heritage Festival which takes place on 26 and 27 June. Organised by Huntingdon Town Council the two day event includes a wide variety of re-enactment and family entertainment. Find out more at www.huntingdontown.gov.uk. Whilst these special events take place on specific dates the shops and businesses in Huntingdon are here all the time – some of them open 7 days a week. The last couple of months have been really tough as we have all struggled in the snow, wind and rain, so I would urge you to Shop Local now that the sun is out and ensure the future prosperity of our town. For any budding entrepreneurs, don’t forget the “Start Your Own (Market Trader) Business” project which is running again in 2010.
